1971

 Establishment of KRONOS S.A.

The company began operations in Mavrovouni, Skydra, laying the foundations for a leading position in the European canned fruit market. The facilities now cover 300,000 sq.m., with 100,000 sq.m. housing state-of-the-art equipment. Maintaining exemplary infrastructure and a strong export presence to this day, the company serves more than 85 countries.

2018

Strategic Energy Autonomy

Establishment of KRONOS SUN ENERGY S.A. and operation of a 1.5 MW photovoltaic park, strengthening sustainable development and reducing the carbon footprint.

2013

Expansion of Photovoltaic Capacity

Installation of an additional 0.8 MW rooftop photovoltaic park, further enhancing the energy self-sufficiency of KRONOS S.A.

2015

Modernization of the Fruit Cocktail Line

Installation of specialized equipment for the automated handling and composition of fruit salad, with a focus on quality, precision and production flexibility.

2016

Biomass Boiler

KRONOS incorporates the use of peach pits and pellets as biomass fuel, with a capacity of 26,000 kg/h steam, covering a significant portion of the factory’s energy needs and strengthening the circular economy model.

2017

Installation of Aseptic Line

Installation of a complete aseptic fruit cube line and acquisition of an atmospheric pasteurizer, marking a key milestone in production modernization, aiming at maximizing fruit utilization through automated machinery.

2017

Labeling Deot. & Facilities Expansion

New packaging facilities of 3,000 sq.m. and refrigerated warehouses of 5,400 sq.m with racking capacity for 5,000 pallets, significantly enhancing operational flexibility and ensuring optimal conditions for the handling and preservation of products, from production to market distribution.

2018-2023

Modernization of Building Facilities and Mechanical Equipment

The mechanical equipment was upgraded with modern, more efficient machinery, enhancing production capacity. At the same time, all production areas were air-conditioned, ensuring improved and more stable working conditions.

2019

Plastic Cup Line

Installation of an automated line for plastic cup packaging, featuring a sleeve application system, labeling system, metal detectors, and carton sealing equipment.

2020-2024

New installation of refrigeration infrastructure

Refrigeration units with a total area of 3,500+ sq.m. offering product storage and cooling capacity, paving the way for a tripling of capacity by 2024, reaching a total area of 10,000 sq.m.

2022: 2,000 sq.m. in Sevastiana, Pella.

2024: 3,000 sq.m. in Marina Imathias.

2022

Installation of WMS System

Digital transition and installation of a WMS system, ensuring complete digital mapping and traceability of the produced products all the way to the end customer.
2023

Establishment of Proprietary Can Manufacturing Facility

Creation of a can-making facility covering 4,000 sq.m. with the capacity to produce cans in all packaging formats tailored to the needs of the cannery, enhancing autonomy and flexibility in packaging.
2024

Installation of 2nd Aseptic Line

The second aseptic line expanded capacity and operational flexibility.
2024-2026

New CNG-LPG Boiler

Installation of the first CNG boiler producing steam through natural gas, with a capacity of 16,000 kg/h of steam, enhancing sustainability and energy efficiency. Installation of a second boiler of the same capacity (16,000 kg/h), further strengthening steam production capacity and operational reliability. Installation of next-generation steam peelers with direct supply from the new natural-gas steam production units, eliminating the use of soda, reducing the environmental footprint, and ensuring smoother operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

2025-2026

Installation of automatic feeders in pear line

Installation of thirteen automatic feeders, fully synchronized with the peeler, which ensure efficient alignment and controlled feeding of fruit into the peeling process, improving consistency and overall production performance.
